Now play both tracks and see if they phase cancel completely or not. Use this plugin to flip the phase of one of the tracks. Put a clean (no harmonics/distortion generating) plugin on both tracks on the second insert which is capable to simply flip the phase. Put the UAD one on track one (as the first insert) and the native one on the second track (also as first insert). If they do (they should), you are certain it's set up right and you can continue.

Duplicate the same audio, remove all plugins and make sure the teo tracks phase cancel completely when you flip the phase of one of the tracks and play them both together. you want to know what the difference is between the plugins, besides listening with your ears (which you simply can't always trust), try a phase cancellation test.

So I got a message back from SoftTube Comfirming they are the same but may contain architectural differences (and of course the side chain difference).īut what I don't get is how when A/Bing the right channel is the same peak between both of them but the left is different.
